Semper Fi Community Task Force

The Semper Fi Community Task Force was established by a small group of Marines
to support our local community with a focus on Veterans and their families.
We apply the core values of honor, courage, and commitment, through
volunteering our time, talents, and resources, in support of this mission.

Funds raised through A Salute to Service: Honoring Our Heroes will provide critical support and funding that will allow us to serve our heroes and their families within our five (5) Task Force Programs.

Program Overview

A Salute to Service: Honoring Our Heroes allows the Semper Fi Community Task Force to share its success stories with the community and offers an opportunity for local businesses to actively participate in our organization’s support of local Veterans and their families.

Our Programs

Heroes Week – The Semper Fi Community Task Force hosts 50 – 60 wounded and injured veterans with their caregivers each year, giving them the Welcome Home they may not have received due to hospitalizations and rehabilitation. During this all-expense-paid week in Northern Alabama, filled with activities and events, our Tennessee Valley and Northern Alabama communities show their deep appreciation for these service members.

Heroes’ Outdoor Adventures – The Semper Fi Community Task Force honors the patriotism and sacrifice of our Country’s wounded and injured Veterans, and many times their families, by providing quality hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities while raising awareness about the therapeutic effects outdoor activities have on the mental and physical disabilities of our Country’s wounded men and women.

Semper Fi Racing – The Semper Fi Community Task Force partners with volunteers from the Huntsville Quarter Midget Association and generous sponsors to offer this unique opportunity for children of Gold Star families to participate in the sport of Quarter Midget Racing. Semper Fi Racing exposes these children to principles of engineering and physics, while they participate in a fun sport that builds self-confidence, sharpens their awareness, and hones their motor skills.

Youth Mentoring – Members of the Semper Fi Community Task Force actively participate in mentoring, training, and service roles for local youth. Organizations that have been supported by the Semper Fi Community Task Force Youth Mentoring Program include: Ready Yourself for the Future (RUFF) Program in Madison City Schools, Media Arts Institute of Alabama, JROTC Volunteerism Awards, a US Space & Rocket Center Space Camp Scholarship, and Young Marines Detachments in Huntsville and Madison.

Veterans Outreach – The Semper Fi Community Task Force partners with like-minded local organizations and citizens to pool resources in support of local Veterans, Service Members, Wounded Veterans, and their families needing assistance.
