April 5th is National Gold Star Spouses’ Day, a day to pause and honor spouses of our fallen Service Members. This year, members of the Semper Fi Community Task Force joined with Canvas, Inc. and The Mojo Radio Show in honoring a particular Gold Star Spouse and her sons with a wonderful gift from our community.

Lori Woeber’s husband and father of their three sons, CW3 Brian Woeber, was killed in a helicopter training accident in Hawai’i, August 2017.

On March 16th, 2019, Canvas, Inc. and The Mojo Radio Show hosted the 2nd Annual 0.5K – A Race for the Rest of Us. Prior to the race, Mojo surprised Lori during a live interview, announcing that she and her sons would be the beneficiaries of the race proceeds. The Semper Fi Community Task Force partnered with Canvas and Mojo on this great event. And, many volunteered to help make it a huge success, including members of the Redstone Arsenal Military and Civilians Club (RSAMCC). You can see just a few of the photos from the race below.

0.5K-Collage 2019

The Woeber Family was presented with the proceeds from the 2nd Annual 0.5K on April 5, 2019. And, thanks to generous members of our community and sponsors, the event not only exceeded the goal amount but doubled it!

Huntsville, Madison, Madison County, and the entire Tennessee Valley honor and thank our military, veterans, and their families in many ways. But, it is extra inspiring to witness an outpouring like we have seen with this event, culminating in the check reveal and presentation.

We thank you, Lori, your boys, and Brian, for your selfless service to our Nation, and especially for your sacrifice.
